About Lisa

Hello, and welcome to my design portfolio. My full name is Lisa Florence (Dieffenbach) Davidson. That’s a mouth full. More commonly I’m known as Lisa Davidson, or simply “Lisa”. I'm a Boston-based product designer, with a background in experience design, graphic design and brand. I'm also an  innovation catalyst.

I've designed everything from complicated software-platform interfaces at Intuit, to award-winning promotional experiences for IKEA, and most recently integrated account experiences for CVS Health.

Right now, my strength is designing clarity in complex environments — helping teams understand system constraints well enough to move forward. Going forward, I’m focused on bringing that clarity earlier, so complexity informs decisions and strategy before becoming a delivery risk.

My design approach is business-goal driven, with a dose of intuition (because experiences are designed for people, not machines).  Here's a short list of some of the industry methods I work with:

  • Vision statements

  • Personas

  • Journey maps

  • Analogous experiences

  • User flows

  • Wire frames

  • Pattern libraries, Design systems, Brand guides and Style guides

  • Mood boards, Story boards,

  • Agile (Scrum)

  • Working knowledge of a variety of frameworks (for collaboration with development teams)

I believe in design systems (effective for orienting customers to your product, great way to get new releases out quick), and the Don't-Make-Me-Think model of design.

I love problems. Problems beg for exploration, understanding and solving.
